The Drawing for this knife (and the 100 Knives in 100 Days Giveaway) is now closed. Thank you to the Schwarzers, and all those who donated or participated.
We are appreciative of all of the production companies who have provided us with knives for our 100 Knives in 100 Days Giveaway. As wonderful as these knives are though, they represent a minuscule fraction of the overall yearly production from these companies. When a knife comes from a custom maker, or in the case of our Day 64 Giveaway (Saturday 8/3/19), a literal “Mom and Pop” operation, it is much more special.
This Saturday we will be holding drawing for a Schwarzer Blades Skeltonized Tactical Dagger, featured in the May 2019 Issue of Knife Magazine.
For those of you unfamiliar with Florida knifemakers Steve and Lora Schwarzer, they are the Husband and Wife team behind Schwarzer Blades. Steve is an ABS Master Smith and one of the pioneers in powder Damascus. His wife Lora, is a Journeyman Smith whose work is heavily influenced William Scagel due to her access to Dr. Jim Lucie’s collection of Scagel knives during her formative knifemaking years.
Even with two of them working in the forge, their production is still extremely limited. In an effort to get their knives in to more people’s hands at an affordable price, they have begun a “mid-tech” line of their designs, finished in their Florida workshop.
As I mentioned, Knife Magazine writer Jim Phillips visited the Schwarzers, and wrote about the couple and their knives in our May 2019 issue.
