It’s a hell of a thing to be in New York City on the anniversary 9/11. To remind oneself of those who have such hate for us, and the American way of life. They killed so many of us in acts of terror. They made our buildings fall but they could not collapse our spirit. To see first-hand the magnificent structures that are tribute to American ingenuity, strength, and perseverance is a powerful thing, but we must never forget the 2996 lives lost that fateful day. The bravery of those hundreds of souls who ran into the danger and made the ultimate sacrifice must be celebrated. On this day we must tell our children, so that they, in turn, will tell their children, that we can be killed but that our American spirit will never die. Our freedoms must always be protected. We must never give up liberty for security, as so many in our own government are willing to do. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are the gifts of our forefathers, but it is “We the people”, the common man, who must preserve them… at all cost.
