It was a crazy week, as Press Week always is. September’s issue is in the can and off at the printer’s. We typically take a couple of days to catch up on things we punted past deadline, and then we get to work on October. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
It was also my kids’ first week back at school. Too early if you ask me. I grew up in Ohio. I was still working as a camp counselor until August 15th or so. At least we aren’t doing the year round school thing. Summer diversions are too important for the development of those things that shape who you become. As Mark Twain said, “don’t let school interfere with you education”. I learned as much or more in my summers.
This is the Weekend Open Thread… so thread away. Have you acquired any new knives this week? Add something new to you wish list? Cut Yourself? Join a Cult?
Inquiring minds want to know. If we get enough comments on this post I will give away a knife from our 100 Knives in 100 Days Giveaway pool. So comment early and often. If a conversation breaks out, steel will be given.
Taking a look at our Event Calendar for the weekend there don’t seem to be any knife shows of note, just a couple of club meetings. If there is something you think should be on the list, there is a reporting form for that. Click Here.
Looking ahead to next weekend, Mark and I both will be attending the Central Kentucky Knife Show. It was there last year that I really caught the vintage/antique slipjoint bug.
Have a great Weekend everyone. Remember, we aren’t drawing the winner of the Nordsmith Lapwing until Sunday night. So if you haven’t entered yet to win, visit this post and leave a comment.:
